About the Award
The Arctic Cloudberry is an independent journalism award awarded twice a year. The Award supports authors who talk about key challenges related to the Russian Arctic, the rights of indigenous peoples, the climate crisis, environmental issues, corruption, and the negative effects of kleptocracy.
The jury members meet twice a year, in spring and autumn, to select the best Arctic—themed materials. The award was created to support independent and in—depth journalism on a topic that is not widely covered enough - the Russian Arctic.
Reports, investigations, analytical materials, and research are selected for participation in the award, including in multimedia formats (podcasts, documentaries, videos, and special projects). Only original materials published on any of the public platforms are taken into account.
The minimum premium amount is $1,500. From 1 to 3 works can be awarded in one cycle.
For more information about the award format and publication requirements, see the award regulations.
